The one thing that is for sure on Friday night is that Alan Pardew will have to reshuffle the side as both Neil Trotman and Jacob Mellis are cup tied, although Mellis hasnt featured in recent weeks, Trotman has been a vital part of the starting line up and its hard to see how Saints will replace him, the obvious choice will be Chris Perry although Wayne Thomas is an option as is Paul Wotton.
Saints will be looking to cut out the slack defending that cost them all three points at Orient as well as starting to take chances a little more clinically, yes they have been scoring in droves in recent weeks, but they have also been missing far too many.
Saints supporters will be looking to see if AP gives a start to Mikail Antonio who has impressed in all his appearances from the bench, however in his one start against Torquay he was innefectual so the question on everyones lips is, is he only an impact player from the bench ? or can he perform from the start ?
Since Rovers win at SMS the fortunes of both teams have gone in differing directions, Rovers have lost all five league games, whilst Saints have drawn one and won the other four.
With that in mind and making their first apperance at this stage of the FA Cup in nearly 50 years Saints will be looking to make sure thaat their interest continues.
There is of course also the revenge factor of that defeat two seasons ago.
The truth is at the moment Saints fear nobody and have the squad in depth to adapt to the loss of the players out, hopefully there will be lessons learnt from the dropped points at Orient and the mistakes wont be made again.
