Keltie returns to Rochdale

Midfielder Clark Keltie has returned to the club from his two month loan spell at Chester after the Deva Stadium club's off field issues prevented them from renewing his loan deal.

Whilst this season has been one disaster after another for Chester, the loan signing of Keltie has been a rare bright spot for the Cestrians. He has impressed during his time with City as they have tried to overcome a 25 point deduction.

But with Chester facing possible expulsion from the Conference next Monday, and rumours of players not being paid, it was hardly surprising that they couldn't come up with the funds to keep Keltie on.

Another returning player is striker Jon Shaw. His three month spell at Barrow expires this weekend, and FA rules prevent Barrow from extending it, but Dale have withdrawn him a few days early.

Today is the deadline for emergency loans to be made before the January transfer window, and the club are hoping that by recalling Shaw, they may be able to find another club to take him on.If rumours are to be believed, Shaw may well find himself later today at Gateshead.

Shaw has impressed during his time at Holker Street, and a longer term deal is a possibility when the transfer window opens in January.
